Frameworq in collaboration with Vancouver Fix-It Collective present:
Fix-It & Potluck
Earth Day 2015
Do you have ripped jeans, or pants? Perhaps a hole in your favourite t-shirt or sweater?
Bring it to our Textiles Themed Fix-It Potluck and we’ll help each other repair, re-purpose and renew clothing, bags, and any other fabric type fixes.
Fixing keeps waste out ofthe landfill and builds our shared capacity to live sustainably. Fixing also brings people together, repairing some of the isolation we may find ourselves in.
We’ll have some sewing machines, and supplies on site, as well as experienced folks on hand but we want to emphasize that the event is meant to help individuals take action, and learn to fix themselves, to see how easy it is to fix one's own items, we move away from the "expert-teaching-students" model to a decentralized all hands on deck.
The evening is also a potluck; as such,in addition to your ripped textiles and enthusiasm, please bring a dish of your choice to share, and ensure it’s clearly labeled for those with food allergies. However, we do not want this to be a barrier to anyone's participation - please contact us if this may not be possible and we will accommodate accordingly.
The event is free but please RSVP here, through EventBrite (as noted above) so that we can ensure we have the appropriate tools present for optimal fixin’.
