we need your support
we have big news
a big ask
We launched a crowdfunding campaign via Wayblaze Community Crowdfunding to help us cover the costs of running FREE clothing fix-it events at the Mount Pleasant Library.
We are NOT FUNDED and we cover all the costs, expenses, supplies and machines maintenance completely out of pocket and it just doesn't make any sense.
In the past 3 years we've been running FREE clothing fix-it events in the lower mainland.
If you've been to our fix-its before, you know that we always make sure that there are sewing machines, sewing supplies and volunteers to help you repair your clothes and provide with the guiding expertise to hack a repair or just brainstorm a creative idea.
What you may not know, is that we've been running the fix-it events without any funding, completely out of pocket (except few small honorariums over the years).
In 2017 alone, we organized 24 fix-it events and this year, we'll be at our 15th fix-it event by the end of July. It's been 3 years of ongoing fix-its (last year alone we ran 24 fix-it events and this year we'll be at our 15th fix-it by end of July) and it's time for a change.
We're in a process of registering as a non-profit so we can seek proper funding but until then, we really need your help.
This campaign is to crowdfund $5000 to cover the costs of running 12 fix-it events at the Mount Pleasant library.
It's a whole year of fix-its and this will help us cover the basic expenses to run the fix-it events at our home location while we seek bigger funding to run more fix-its in additional locations in town.
So now, we're reaching out to you
the community we’ve been serving for over 3 years
to show us your support
and kick us off with an initial funding
so we don’t stop the consistency of the monthly Fix its
and we can continue growing a strong foundation
for a resilient and sustainable repair society.
By contributing to our campaign to raise the funds (and check out the fab perks!).
