This is an open call to participate in a
2 month UPCYCLING PROJECT
to develop a method to upcycle post consumer materials into contemporary-mainstream garments.
Frameworq is in last stages of development of a retail space for upcycled, re-used and re-purposed clothing and accessories.
The purpose of this project is to find the best method to upcycle post-consumer materials.
But more importantly, we are hoping to find a good match with a designer or designers to continue collaborating with, after the end of this project and together create a full collection of upcycled garments to be sold at our store.
For this project, we are looking to explore different ways to upcycle and we are inviting young designers (up to 2 years experience), students or recent graduates to take part in this adventure.
The project is designed to fit into your busy schedule and it is not intense.
Why would you want to participate?
If just by reading the words "upcycling", "sustainable fashion" and "design", your heart beats faster of excitement – then this is probably for you.
Together we will be exploring what it takes to create a sustainable fashion business including talking about constraints of cost, sourcing materials, production and the actual process from design to consumer.
This is an opportunity to explore, experiment and discover your own passions, interests and skills in the sustainable fashion world all while working with an experienced retailer.
Project is limited to 10 designers.
The project will commence on February 1st and will end it on March 31st.
We will meet once a week to review the progress and discuss the next milestone.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
The participants will be asked to design a mini collection and fully construct 2-3 looks.
All post-consumer materials will be provided by Frameworq.
We will ask you to use your own machines and equipment, however should you need to use any other machinary or equipment, we'll find the best arrangement.
AT THE END OF THE PROJECT
We will discuss further collaboration and celebate in an event to display your final looks - TBD.
Send us few pictures from your portfolio, previous or current work and finished garments.
Tell us about yourself and your background.
We will contact you to schedule a meeting and will send you the design brief, schedules and further information upon acceptance to this project.
